That Mac hasn't had its room-config.json set up yet. Cmd Cue writes a placeholder file to Application Support on first run — edit it with that room's real name and its playlist of local file paths, then relaunch.
Check that room's Mac has a local hostname set (System Settings → General → Sharing → Local hostname) matching what the Controller expects, and that both devices are on the same local network. The Controller talks directly over the local network — it doesn't go through the internet.
It's a plain web page — open it directly in Safari on a Mac, or serve the folder over your local network and open it in Safari on an iPad. No app to install.
Cmd Cue checks that every file in the playlist actually exists before playing — a missing or unreadable file is skipped rather than freezing the room, and it's noted in that room's activity log so you can fix the playlist before the next run.
No — standard ProRes, H.264, or H.265 files work directly. Cmd Cue does not support DCP.
Not in the current version — each room plays its configured order every time, which keeps setup simple and predictable. Rotation/scheduling is a possible future addition, not a v1 feature.
