The short version

Cmd Cue is playout software that runs on Macs you control, on your venue's own local network. It plays your video files and responds to commands from your Controller — it does not collect, transmit, or store personal data about you or your audience.

What Cmd Cue stores

Each room's Mac keeps a small local configuration file (which files to play, in what order) and a local activity log (what played and when, used for sponsor proof-of-play reporting). Both live entirely on that Mac — Cmd Cue has no server and nothing is sent off the venue's own network in normal operation.

The Controller

The Controller is a web page that talks directly, over your local network, to each room's Mac. It does not go through the internet and does not go through any Cmd Cue server — there isn't one. Whoever can reach your venue's local network and knows a room's address can view its status and send it commands, the same as any other device on that network.

What Cmd Cue does not do

No account is required to use Cmd Cue. No analytics or telemetry, no ads, no data broker relationships of any kind. Video files themselves are never uploaded anywhere by Cmd Cue — they stay on the Mac you copied them to.
